Confidence

The jitters that make

 your hands and legs shake;

the sandy-mouth dry

as you solo (or try)

or when speaking to a crowd

and you need to be loud

but alas!, the spirit tries

but the flesh whispers and cries,

“I’m not sure I can do this!

How did I come to this?”

The confidence-crisis happens to many.

When it grips you  and strikes,

on stage, in front of mics,

take a deep breath

and again breathe

let your self- doubting leave.

Let it fly out on the wings

of trusting your gift brings

you. There is no one

under the sun

best suited to share

all that you are.
