Word-Bouquet

The flowers sang to me

this morning as I walked.

Their colors more expressive

than any words, nonetheless,

words came to mind:

a frill of lilac trilling,

the sonorous, stately purple laurel,

pleasing, potent peonies,

royal red azaleas arias,

emerald moss, velvet-soft whisper;

even the weeds,

those sun-bright dandelions

joined in the mighty chorus.

Listen to the fragrance!

Know the love in which

we live and move

and have our being.
