Word-less

I try to write

and the blank page

stares back at me–
I remember when words

bubbled over

like a fountain spilling

easily

but now
my barren brain

sullenly stalls

and it’s difficult to

choose words that
even scratch the surface

of the devastation

the earthquake of change

now that his life

is gone
