Alligator Egg: Ode to the Avocado 

  
The world is eating more avocados. 

So much so that in New Zealand

large crops are being stolen!

Ah, I have known lust 

for the perfect one:

bright green creamy

not mushy

splashed with lemon juice 

olive oil and

a bit of red chili flake —

smooth. 

The tongue sighs in

satisfaction. 

Perhaps today,

perhaps this morning 

perhaps in a few minutes 

I will discover the perfect

One!
