Deep Time

When imagined futures

press in like

the impenetrable walls

of a narrowing

box

The earth and

its  peoples cry.

The thirst for

mercy

is unquenched.

The hope for peace

is a mirage
and there is just

No Time.
Time is running

out.
The hands keep moving

and the clock is winding

Down
Then we want to

believe

believe in goodness

and balance

equity and

kindness.
When you can

almost breathe in

hope like the sweet aroma

of baking bread

but only

almost
Then,

we think of the fullness of time

deep time

the right time

all in good time

making and keeping

time

and not

Doing it.
