Stories

Everyone has a story.

Hearing the story

of the teenager who

came thousands of miles

to be cured

and the woman whose

last chance lay

here

and

seeing how each day

brings a new challenge

makes me

think of this

experience as

a Quest.
We went through

the open door

into a perilous journey.

I am Samwise to his

Frodo;

he carries the heavy ring

that is draining away

life.

I watch this

with a feeling of helplessness

at times.

Other times

I am simply keeping watch

packing up provisions

reminding him

of the beauty

and value

of home

and loving him

as much

as I can.

Like any epic

there are new dangers

and surprises

but

also guides

bearing gifts

and wisdom.

We take these
gladly

and

we stay focused

on the goal,

no matter how steep

 how dark

and how faint

the path.

We know

that from

this journey

this story,

we will be

forever

changed.
